Work with me

I believe that writing is a profoundly human act — a way of coming home to yourself, not proving yourself.

Writing is often not a choice, but a necessity – it is what we are called to do. It’s about following our inner voice and responding to the  pull that drives us to create.

Writing isn’t a performance — it’s a practice. It is about the slow, steady work of nurturing the writer you are today, and becoming the writer you are meant to be.

When you choose to work with me, you’re not stepping into pressure or performance. You’re  entering a space where your story is honoured, your pace is respected, and your joy is welcomed back in.

Together, we create the conditions for your writing to flourish.

The Cycle of Creativity

Writing is a long, cyclical practice that asks for patience and courage. It is a deeply emotional journey — one that every writer experiences, from the aspiring to the seasoned professional. These feelings may feel like obstacles, but they are part of the work

Acknowledging them is far more powerful than trying to suppress them.

The brain may generate our ideas, but the heart feeds them with meaning, passion and intent. Without the emotional depth, writing loses the resonance that makes it matter.

The emotional cycle is unpredictable, rarely easy, and never linear. It can arise in a single writing session or stretch across drafts

It reminds us that mastery is never final.

Every time we move through the cycle, we strengthen our capacity to navigate it again. We become more resilient, more skilled and more grounded in our identity as a writer. We become familiar with our patterns and better able to navigate the tough times.

Two outcomes sit just beyond the emotional loop:

Reset — returning to the work with clarity, perspective, and discernment.

Expansion — integrating each experience of the emotional cycle into the self, and sensing the shift that comes with it.

Every return to the page grows you in ways that matter. Finishing a manuscript — even if it never gets published — is essential.

Drafting is universal, but finishing a draft is not just about the draft.

It completes the cycle that develops both the writer and the skills that are needed.

Finishing:

  • integrates the skills learned

  • builds the identity of “someone who finishes”

  • teaches endurance and resilience

  • teaches the writer how to return

The writer who finishes a draft becomes someone capable of writing the next one.

Why writers come here

If you don’t know where to begin, how to continue, or unsure whether the publishing world has space for you — you’re not alone.

Our narrative identity (the internal story we tell ourselves about who we are) is often fragile because it lacks the external scaffolding or ‘proof’ that validates our writer identity. We exist in a vulnerable space between inner knowing and outer recognition.

There is no one way to write a book — in craft or practice — and because of this, we’re vulnerable to identity disruption.

Working with me supports you in building the scaffolding that carries you through both the outer journey — the visible, trackable sequence of steps that move a book from idea to publication — and the inner one — the thresholds, fears, identity shifts, and self‑confrontations that make the outer path meaningful.

I’m here to help you become the writer who can carry a book into the world — not just write it.

The Debut Books Ecosystem

I don’t offer a set of services — I offer a relational pathway that walks beside you from the moment you whisper “I think I want to write a book” and beyond.

Debut Books is a living ecosystem designed to hold the whole writer, meeting you at your point of need.

If you’re standing at the beginning, stuck in the messy middle, or returning to the page after a long pause — there is something here for you.

When you’re ready, let’s begin.
