Congratulations – you made it!

It is my hope when you reach the end of this course that you feel clearer and more confident in what you need to pitch your book and how you’re going to do it.

If it feels scary or awkward putting your pitch together, know that you’re not alone!

And as cliché as it is, the best pitches really are unique to you. While there are some amazing resources on the internet that share the pitches of published authors, I recommend using them to study the craft of pitching and then step away from them to write your own.

Don’t be afraid of showing the agents and publishers that you pitch to who you are. Bring your personality and your passion into your pitch.

If you are pitching to an agent, they’re going to be representing you – the human. They want to know who you are.

The same goes for publishers! As the person behind the work, a pitch is going to give them an insight into the kind of published author you are going to be. They will be looking for clues on the types of publicity you could do, and the sales opportunities they can make for you.

This is your audition – show them what you can do!

Good luck - may the force be with you!
